When a child tries to ride a bike and they fall off, we don’t see it as failure, we encourage them to try again. Each time they try they are one step closer to getting a little bit farther than they did the time before. They may get support and encouragement from a parent or another individual. They find ways to stop themselves from falling over or riding into the grass to keep the fall from hurting too much, and sometimes they fall and scrape their knee and when it heals, and then they try again. As they steady themselves, they ride faster and faster on their own. Gaining more and more confidence with themselves and their abilities. As they get more and more comfortable they start taking more and more risks. As we get older, we start to see all the risks before we start, and the thought of falling keeps us from trying.
Try something new today. Just take one step toward the vision you want to achieve. And, if you fall off, pick yourself up and try again. Each time you do, you will gain new experiences and your confidence will grow. You will begin to soar!
